The organizing committee is very pleased to announce that Brit Global Specialties and Navis Marine Insurance Brokers are again jointly taking the title sponsorship of the event. Brit is a leading international insurance company, that is also part of the Lloyds of London market through Brit Syndicate and Navis is one of their Coverholders in Canada. Together, they are quickly becoming the leading insurers of Yacht Insurance in British Columbia. Additionally, they have a program designed for small sailboats including the Optimist.
We look forward to having Mark Cloutier, the CEO of Brit Global Specialty, in attendance at the Dinner at West Vancouver Yacht Club and hopefully at the awards and closing ceremonies.

The Squamish Yacht Club and West Vancouver Yacht Club are excited to be co-hosting the 2018 Canadian Optimist Championship.
The First Nations word for Squamish is Sḵwx̱wú7mes. Squamish is a loose English adaption meaning “Mother of the Wind”. With consistent afternoon thermal winds, glacial fed brackiwsh water, beautiful rugged mountains, and waterfalls make the area the perfect site for this event.
We look forward to hosting the Optimist Sailors, their coaches and families this summer, and promise to create a memorable event for all!
